A lightbox is an enclosed box with a translucent face lit from inside. TMT’s material covers two approaches: modules mounted behind the face (back-lit) and modules mounted along the perimeter that throw light across the box (edge-lit). Back-lit or edge-lit
TMT does not publish a guide comparing the two approaches. What its sources do give are the product-specific figures above: a minimum cabinet depth and a maximum span for Midi Edge, and IP ratings for each module (Midi Edge datasheet; tmtleds.com Lightbox Modules).
